Of course, there are plenty:
Easy:
1) Pick a bike you like and reserve it. (We hold the payment until you actually get the bike. Don’t like it when you see it? You get an immediate 100% refund.)
2) We connect you with the seller. You agree on a hand-over, and voilá!
3) YOU HAVE A NEW BIKE!
Need more information? Check this complete guide.
Unless you choose an immediate shipping, we always wait for you to confirm you took the bike. Like the bike? Confirm the handover, and we will ship the equipment. Don’t like the bike? Cancel the order and we will not ship the additional equipment and refund you in full.
Every bike has a radius in which it gets delivered on seller’s cost. Check the map in each bike’s details overview. Beyond this radius, you are responsible for the delivery. No worries, though! As always, we will help you set things up. Drop us a message in the chat and we’ll be happy to discuss details with you?
First of all, don’t panic! Check to see what the guarantee is with the bicycle and if your issue is covered by the guarantee.
1) My bike’s issue is covered by an active guarantee.
Great! The next step is to contact the seller of the bicycle and see what they can do to solve the problem for you. You can do this on the ‘problem with bike’ pop-up on your BikeFair profile. Usually, sellers would prefer to fix the problem themselves, but if this is not possible they might direct you to a bike shop that is in a more convenient location or send out a replacement bike for you. IMPORTANT: do NOT get the bike repaired by an external service provider without the consent of the seller as this could invalidate the guarantee and all related claims.
2) My bike is not covered by an active guarantee.
Either way, in order to make this process as fair and transparent as possible, it is really important to provide evidence when making a claim. For example, you might be asked to provide clear images or videos highlighting the issue. Additionally, providing written confirmation of any agreement between you and the seller is essential in managing the claim.
Please note that the seller is responsible for the condition of the bike upon delivery and BikeFair cannot take any liability for the bikes sold on our platform.
Sellers can offer a range of guarantees as part of their bike listing:
The guarantee applies if the bike is damaged within the provided guarantee period. The exception to these guarantees is if the bike has been damaged due to improper use, in which case the seller can dispute the guarantee; or if the bike arrives in a state that differs to what is advertised, in which case the seller assumes responsibility for this.
It is possible to cancel your reservation at any time if it is to be picked up. You can do this by heading to the ‘orders’ section of your account. Don’t feel any pressure to confirm the handover if your heart isn’t set on the bike, or if you find it to be different from how it was advertised.
If the bike is for delivery, you can cancel until the moment the bike is shipped. If the bike is already on its way, then we are unable to cancel your reservation, and in case there was a shipping fee, this fee is considered to be consumed. You would then have to go through the returns procedure if you no longer want the bike, or alternatively we can help you try and sell your bike on BikeFair.
€0. In words: nothing.
We offer ways to help your bike get sold better and faster, and those are paid – but also completely voluntary.
Easy:
1) Create a listing by filling in a simple questionnaire.
2) Hand over your bike. We will find your bike a buyer (feel free to pitch in by sharing the link to your BikeFair listing!) and collect the deposit. Your only job is to hand the bike over in your selected area.
3) Get paid. Cha-ching, and just like that, money’s on your account.
Need more information? Check this complete guide.
When you hand-over the bike and the buyer confirms it, we release the money to your account. The time to receive the money depend on the exact conditions of the specific transfer, but usually doesn’t take more than 1-2 business days depending on your bank.
ID verification is, in most cases, not obligatory. Only sellers of bikes with no frame number are obliged to prove their identity. That way, we make sure we don’t make it too easy for thieves.
We would still recommend all sellers to get verified, though. Think of it that way - as a buyer, you’d probably also feel better buying things from someone who isn’t hiding in anonymity. That is also why you get an honorary BikeFair verification badge if you get verified.
Your ads as well as personal data are safely stored in Perfecto database. We do not share them with anyone without your consent – including BikeFair. We will keep you posted when Perfecto is back on track, and you’ll be able to access them as usual.
